Here we go Minnesota. Get ready for some serious weather whiplash in the next week.
Friday warm front
Friday’s warm front is a potent one. Temperatures surged into the 80s as expected in southwest Minnesota Friday. The front drapes across southern Minnesota this afternoon. That means a big temperature contrast across the Twin Cities. It’s in the 70s in the south metro, but 50s and 60s linger just north.

Showers north
A band of rain showers tracks across northern Minnesota Friday night north of the warm front. NOAA’s HRRR model shows the band sliding northeast Friday night.

Spectacular weekend
It just doesn’t get much better than this in early May in Minnesota. Saturday brings highs to near 70 degrees as far north as Fargo, N.D., and Brainerd, Minn.
