We need some rain across most of Minnesota now. 

Rainfall across Minnesota is running between 10 and 50-percent of average. The driest areas are in northern Minnesota where just 10 to 25-percent of average rainfall has fallen in the past month.

Today’s shower system is driving widely scattered rain showers in southern Minnesota. More widespread rains favor central and northern Minnesota where coverage and intensity will be higher through this evening.

Overall rainfall totals may reach .5 inches in the northern half of Minnesota. The Twin Cities and southern Minnesota will be lucky to see .2 inches in some places.

Our next chance for meaningful rain favors Saturday night.

Temperatures rise after today. Highs in much of Minnesota hover around the 70-degree mark the next few days. The first 80s of 2020 still appear ready to arrive next week.
