Storm watch: Highest severe risk across southern Minnesota

Here’s a quick update on our severe storm risk through tonight.

Scattered non-severe storms have been moving through central Minnesota. A higher risk for severe weather exists across southern Minnesota.

NOAA’s Storm Prediction center paints an “enhanced” risk for severe storms through this evening from the southern Twin Cities south to the Iowa border.

The primary threats with storms today and this evening are large hail and damaging winds. A few tornadoes are also possible as storms may form in discrete mode early in the event across southern Minnesota.
