We have been getting periodic reports from Minnesota wildflower chasers Phyllis Root and Kelly Povo, telling us where to hunt for wildflowers this spring and summer.

Their latest dispatch is from Long Lake Conservation Center in Palisade, Minn. They decided to take to the water, and they found a surprising number of carnivorous plants during their morning paddle.

Root and Povo are the authors of “Searching for Minnesota’s Native Wildflowers.”
