Hot and stormy: Severe weather and tornado risk returns Saturday

As of this post time, a severe thunderstorm watch includes the Twin Cities until 6 am.

Heavy rains and flash flooding remains a threat as storms move slowly near the Twin Cities early Saturday morning.

As storms approach the Twin Cities metro, they have been largely sub-severe, with the occasional wind gust up around 40 mph. However, we'll be watching the threat for flash flood as it's southern progress slows and we see repeated storms move in from the west. #mnwx pic.twitter.com/2pIkEGb82v

Friday night’s storm complex produced many damage reports across Minnesota.

Saturday brings an excessive heat warning and another severe weather threat.

An Excessive Heat Watch has been issued for portions of the TC metro, southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin. Heat indices will range from 100 to 110 Saturday PM.
