New federal recommendations say that men should stick to one alcoholic drink per day.

Alcohol sales are up 23 percent since the pandemic began, partly due to backyard gatherings and also because some folks are using it to cope with our new way of life. 

Dr. Jon Hallberg’s takeaway from the new guidelines is a line in the study that informs the new recommendations. It reads, “Evidence supports to a general rule that drinking less is better for health than drinking more.”
