Frost advisories are up for much of the eastern half of Minnesota and graze the northeast Twin Cities Friday morning. Freeze warnings run from near Hinckley through the Iron Range into northwest Wisconsin.
Most of the Twin Cities will escape an earlier than usual September frost again Friday morning. There may be some frost in the far north and east Twin Cities suburbs and exurbs. Lows will be in the low 40s around most of the Twin Cities area.
Next rain arrives Friday
The next low-pressure system will slide across Minnesota late Friday into Saturday. The Canadian model shows widespread rainfall moving into southern Minnesota Friday afternoon, and into the Twin Cities area by Friday evening. Rain continues overnight Friday into Saturday.
Warming trend begins Sunday
Sunday brings the sunnier, milder day this weekend. It’s the start of a warming trend that lasts through most of next week. Here’s the quick look forecast for the Twin Cities area this weekend and Monday.
Milder, late-summer like breezes blow into Minnesota next week. Highs will push the 80-degree mark as far east as the Twin Cities by Tuesday afternoon.
