Aug-tember: Late summery weather pattern continues this week

A weak front bubbled through Minnesota with a few raucous thundershowers Monday afternoon. Rumbles of thunder and a brief bout of light to moderate rain visited the Weather Lab Monday.
Temperatures surged into the low 80s across parts of western Minnesota Monday afternoon. Minnesota now rides the northern edge of a much warmer, late summer-like air mass.
The jet stream pattern continues to allow warmer air to filter north into Minnesota through this week.
