It’s a tale of two forecast seasons across Minnesota.
It feels like fall up north. Clouds, scattered showers, and temperatures in the 50s and 60s are giving that fall feeling.

But it’s more July than late September in southern Minnesota. Highs have surged into the 80s once again across the south.

Check out how quickly temperatures soared into the 80s Friday in the Twin Cities.

Occasional showers linger across northern Minnesota this weekend. Southern Minnesota looks mostly dry.
Saturday brings one more summer-like day to southern Minnesota. Highs will tickle 80 degrees once again from the Twin Cities southward. But shades of blue are pooling up north.

Preview of coming attractions.
Cold fronts arrive Sunday
Two cold fronts blow through Minnesota Sunday. The first arrives with slightly cooler air early Sunday. The second front pushes much colder air into Minnesota by Monday.

Highs will run in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees in the Twin Cities early next week. Thursday and Friday look even colder with highs in the low 50s south and 40s up north.

Frost threat next Friday
Temperatures will dip into the 30s across most of Minnesota by next Friday morning. I expect frost advisories will include the Twin Cities next Friday morning.

It’s been a beautiful extended summer this year.
