It’s happening again. Another seemingly super-hurricane spinning out of nowhere is heading for a potentially devastating landfall.

Hurricane Delta blew up with near-record rapid intensification over warm Gulf of Mexico waters in the past 24 hours.

Delta is forecast to pass very near the resort area of Cancun early Wednesday morning.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Hurricane Center forecast is for 155 mph sustained winds. That’s a devastating wind damage and storm surge combination.

Delta is forecast to make another landfall along the Gulf Coast late this week.
