High fire danger

The combination of warm air, highs winds, and low humidity means dry fuels will burn rapidly Tuesday if fires ignite. Red flag warnings are up for southern and western Minnesota and the Dakotas.

Late summerlike pattern

Our mild weather pattern lasts through the upcoming weekend. The jet stream forecast maps for this weekend look more typical of the Minnesota State Fair in late August. The jet lifts north into Canada once again, and warmer air filters into Minnesota.
