Digging out now; melting snow again by Saturday
A shot at 50 degrees again before Thanksgiving?
Tuesday’s snow event delivered for most of the region. Snowfall totals across the Twin Cities ranged from little snow to a couple of inches in the south and east Twin Cities metro area. Most of the Twin Cities picked up between 3 and 5 inches.
Heavier up north
The heaviest bands of snow laid out across central and northern Minnesota. Many locations picked up between 6 and 10 inches.
Here’s a list of the higher snowfall totals across northern and central Minnesota.
Melting again
We may pick up a light dusting of snow again Thursday.

Milder air returns to Minnesota by Saturday. Highs reach the 40s across most of southern and western Minnesota Saturday afternoon.
Again, the numbers on the map above looks a few degrees too conservative to my eye. I think the Twin Cities could be closer to 48 degrees Saturday.
Another shot at 50?
The medium-range upper air forecast maps suggest two more unseasonably mild pulses will feed into the Upper Midwest before Thanksgiving. The first one arrives late next week as the jet stream lifts northward into Canada once again.
Highs late next week should push toward 50 again in southern Minnesota.
NOAA’s GFS model suggests a shot at 50s again for the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota around Nov. 20.
