Stiff southerly winds behind the front will boost temperatures into the 50s across southern Minnesota Wednesday afternoon. The mild air lingers Thursday, with temperatures in the 50s south and 40s north. Highs will reach 70 degrees as close as extreme southern Iowa.

Mild bias into Thanksgiving week

The overall upper-air pattern favors milder than average temperatures into the first half of next week, and possibly into Thanksgiving Day. The average high and low for the Twin Cities on Thanksgiving Day are 35 and 20.
