Louis Johnston is a professor of economics at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University. His most recent work is a history of Minnesota's economy for the Minnesota Historical Society's MNopedia.

Chris Farrell is senior economics contributor at Minnesota Public Radio and APM’s Marketplace. He's co-host of the podcast, small change: Money Stories from the Neighborhood, and he writes regular columns for PBS Next Avenue and the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
