Urban expert Jay Walljasper died last month of kidney cancer at the age of 65.

He was editor of the Utne reader for 15 years and his writing on cities and neighborhoods was influential on many, including former Minneapolis mayor and Minneapolis Foundation president R.T. Rybak. 

Rybak spoke with MPR News host Tom Crann about Walljasper and his influence.
