Security remains high at the Minnesota State Capitol complex, days after a mob of pro-Trump insurrectionists stormed the U.S. Capitol, interrupting the certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s win.

In Minnesota on Wednesday, several hundred Trump supporters gathered outside the state Capitol, and some later moved to the governor’s mansion.  Those protests ended without incident, but as of early Friday morning, police vehicles with flashing lights were still blocking roads leading to the Capitol building.

Harrington told MPR News host Cathy Wurzer that the Department of Public Safety is tracking and aware of several protests happening in the Twin Cities area during the next few days, and that the agency is working with local law enforcement to provide security.
