MnDOT snowplows bearing some creative names will soon be coming to a freeway on-ramp near you. And you can help decide it Joe Plow-er or Sir Plows A Lot clears your lane.

Nearly 24,000 classic-ly Minnesota kitschy snowplow names are submitted for the contest. MNDOT staff narrowed the list to 50 names. Now you can vote to see which eight plow names will represent MnDOT’s eight districts.

After reviewing nearly 24,000 submissions, MnDOT staff narrowed the list down to 50 finalists. Now it’s your turn to vote for your favorites.

Use the form below to vote for up to eight of your favorite snowplow names. After voting closes on February 26, we’ll announce the winners and officially name one snowplow in each of our eight MnDOT Districts.

Some of the many creative names include: Giiwedin (Ojibwe word for ‘north wind’), Ičamna (Dakota word for ‘blizzard’), Justin Moresnow, Kent Brrr-bek, Lake SnowBeGone, Mary Tyler More Snow, Raspberry Brrr-et, and Plowin' in the Wind.
