What’s behind the surge in COVID-19 cases in one NW Minn. county?

A temporary COVID-19 testing site remains open Thursday at the Thief River Falls Armory in northwestern Minnesota.

Health officials are worried about a dramatic surge in cases there recently. Over the past week, Pennington County — which includes Thief River Falls — has been averaging more new cases per capita than any other county in the state.

For more on the uptick in cases, MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with Kayla Jore, who directs the local public health department for Pennington and Red Lake Counties.
