It’s back to school – in person – for thousands more Minn. students

As of Wednesday, thousands of middle and high schoolers in St. Paul are back in classrooms. Many districts around the state have already brought older students back, but St. Paul and Minneapolis — two of the largest districts — are just now navigating the transition.

This comes as health officials warn of a heightened risk of COVID-19 as variants drive new case growth. MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with St. Paul Public Schools Superintendent Joe Gothard about the shift back to in-person learning for older students.
