OK, Minnesota. It’s finally starting to look a lot like May by this weekend. Good timing. May 1 is Saturday. Get ready for the annual parade of cargo shorts and other Minnesota fashion crimes and curiosities this weekend.
Showers fade overnight
Scattered showers push into Wisconsin overnight. NOAA’s NAM 3 km resolution model shows the trend.
Wednesday will be mostly dry, with a mix of clouds and some sunshine. Thursday may start cloudy, but brilliant sunshine looks likely Thursday afternoon. Temperatures begin to respond Thursday afternoon.
Spectacular weekend ahead
Compared to the last couple of weeks, this weekend looks nothing short of spectacular. Of course, the weather bar is set pretty low in Minnesota.

Friday brings bright sun and warming temperatures. Highs in the 70s creep into southwest Minnesota Friday afternoon.
Saturday brings a shot at 80 degrees across much of southern Minnesota, with 70s all the way to Canada. Cooler by the world’s largest freshwater lake. (By surface area.)
Sunday brings spotty shower chances, and somewhat cooler air to northern Minnesota. But it will still feel like early summer in the southern half of Minnesota Sunday.
Bottom line: Get ready to enjoy a beautiful run of weather across most of Minnesota from Thursday afternoon through Sunday.
