Frost advisory outside Twin Cities into Friday morning

Lows in the 30s once again overnight; most of the Twin Cities should escape frost

Get ready for more frost across much of Minnesota overnight.

Frost advisories are posted for much of central and southern Minnesota again Friday morning. The greater Twin Cities area is not included in the frost advisory, but scattered frost is possible in some outer suburbs.

Including the cities of Alexandria, Long Prairie, Little Falls, Princeton, Mora, Morris, Glenwood, St Cloud, Sauk Rapids, Elk River, Cambridge, Center City, Madison, Benson, Montevideo, Willmar, Litchfield, Monticello, Blaine, Stillwater, Granite Falls, Olivia, Hutchinson, Gaylord, Redwood Falls, New Ulm, St Peter, Osceola, Rice Lake, Ladysmith, Hudson, River Falls, Menomonie, and Chippewa Falls

321 PM CDT Thu May 6 2021 ...FROST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 8 AM CDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Temperatures as low as 31 will result in frost formation.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Wisconsin and central, east central, south central, southwest and west central Minnesota.

* WHEN...From 3 AM to 8 AM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

Lows will dip in the lower to mid-30s outside of the Twin Cities. Upper 30s are likely in the inner Twin Cities core.
