Meet one Minnesotan who made a big pandemic career leap

Have you toyed with ditching your job over the past year? Used the upheaval of the pandemic to make needed changes in your life and career? If so, you’re not alone. There have been many recent stories of workers quitting — some without plans for what’s next.

One Minnesotan who recently made the leap is Jamie Shapiro. He spent 30 years selling cars before moving to a new industry this year: data services.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with Shapiro about what inspired his decision, and how the transition is going.
