Severe thunderstorm watches panned out as some severe weather hit parts of Minnesota late Friday. This brief tornado touchdown was captured near Belgrade, Minnesota Friday evening.
There is also tree damage in Belgrade.
Wind gusts of 60 to 62 mph were recorded as storms tore through the Alexandria area.

There are also reports of trees down in the Alexandria area.
Some areas also picked up welcome heavy rainfall. More than 2 inches of rain fell in parts of northwest and west-central Minnesota.

Thunderstorms also moved across southern Minnesota and into the greater Twin Cities area late Friday evening. These slow-moving cells are dumping heavy rainfall and have the potential to drop more than an inch of rain in some areas.
Look for breezy, cooler, and much less humid weather on Saturday.
