Another soaker: More multi-inch rainfall reports

Rainfall reports still trickling in from Monday show some impressive multi-inch rainfall bands.

A stripe of heavy rain fell from southwest Minnesota through the northwest Twin Cities into northwest Wisconsin.

Check out the list of impressive rainfall totals around Minnesota including over 4 inches at East Bethel, nearly 3 inches in Anoka, and 2.75 inches in Maple Grove.

The map at the top of this post shows the heaviest rainfall with an inch or more favored the western and northern Twin Cities. Most of the central and eastern Twin Cities picked up .5 inches or less. MSP Aiport managed just .11 inches.

Heavy rains up north

Parts of northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin got in on the heavy rainfall action. Here are some select rainfall totals from the Duluth National Weather Service office.

  • 1 N Maple, WI 6 inches

  • 1 WSW Grand Rapids 4.75 inches

  • Danbury, WI 4.5 inches

  • 7 NE Hill City 4.2 inches

  • Aitkin 3 inches
