Tracking soaking rains Wednesday and Thursday
Our next rainmaker moves through MInnesota by mid-week.
It’s a beautiful start to the week across most of Minnesota.
One exception is near the head of Lake Superior where some lake-effect rain showers are pushing inland from the big lake. Cooler air in the low 40s blowing across water temperatures still in the 50s is causing the spotty shower bands.
Elsewhere most of Minnesota is enjoying sunny to partly cloudy skies Monday. Temperatures are in the 40s and 50s across the Upper Midwest. Note the relative warmth lingering to the south.
Tuesday brings another quiet weather day with a mix of sun and clouds and highs mostly in the 50s.
Next rain Wednesday
Our next weather system arrives Wednesday and lingers Thursday. The Canadian model shows the low-pressure system tracking through southern Missouri, with bands of rain slowly moving across Minnesota Wednesday and Thursday.
Overall rainfall total forecasts suggest another inch of rain is likely for much of Minnesota by Friday.
Right now Halloween looks dry but chilly with highs in the 40s.
