Minnesota’s mild fall is the weather gift that keeps on giving.

Southerly winds blow milder air into Minnesota again starting Thursday. Highs will reach the 50s in southern Minnesota Thursday afternoon, with some 40s up north. 

Our early November warm spell peaks this weekend, with highs pushing into the 60s once again across southern Minnesota and with 50s in the north. 

The average high for the Twin Cities this weekend is 47 degrees. So temperatures will run about 15 degrees above average by Sunday afternoon. 

Forecast models still suggest a low-pressure system somewhere in the Upper Midwest later next week. NOAA’s latest GFS model tracks a potential system further east today. That would suggest a mix of mostly rain, and possibly some snow to Minnesota next Wednesday and Thursday. 

It’s still too early to tell if this could be a significant snowmaker for parts of Minnesota. But it’s worth watching.
