Song of the Day: 'First Time Around' by New Salty Dog
Will Moore, the music director at WTIP in Grand Marais, Minn., chose today’s Song of the Day. He featured “the wild, rocking weirdness” that is Duluth-based New Salty Dog.
Moore says the group is a blast to see live, thanks to their energetic stage presence featuring bizarrely creative songs.
“There’s some Grateful Dead and Frank Zappa vibes to some of their music,” said Moore, “but lead guitarist and songwriter Jacob Mahon also cites the Muppets as inspiration.”
