The Twin Cities rides the edge of snowfall to the north Tuesday. Many areas around the metro area could pick up an inch, but the heavier snow north should assure a white Christmas north of the Twin Cities.

Temperatures will climb above the thawing point again by Thursday afternoon, so what little snow we have around the Twin Cities may begin to melt and look more beige than white.
Christmas Eve brings a chance of light rain or snow to the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota. Additional snow is likely in the northern half of Minnesota.
Highs in the upper 30s and any light rain will further erode the snow around the Twin Cities.
