One day warm up Saturday; arctic again Sunday
A longer warmup is ahead next week
It’s a one-hit-wonder warmup Saturday for Minnesota.
Southerly winds will increase across Minnesota overnight into Saturday morning. Wind gusts will hit 30 mph early Saturday across much of western Minnesota.
But winds will back off under 15 mph in most areas by later Saturday afternoon. High temperatures will reach the lower 30s across southern Minnesota, with 20s up north.
Saturday afternoon looks fantastic for outdoor winter activities across Minnesota.

Arctic front Sunday
Another arctic air mass dives southward across Minnesota Sunday. High temperatures will hover a few degrees either side of zero Sunday.
By Monday morning, subzero lows cover Minnesota once again.
There is good news for those who want a break from the cold next week. Highs will reach the 20s and 30s across Minnesota next Tuesday through Thursday.
Some light snow will cross central and northern Minnesota overnight into early Saturday. Right now I don’t see any big snow systems on the maps for the next week.
Stay warm, Minnesota.
