Tuesday brought the warmest day in three months to Minnesota.
The thermometer at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport cracked 50 degrees Tuesday.
That’s the first day we’ve been in the 50s since Dec. 15, 2021. Remember that day? That’s the day severe thunderstorms and 20 tornadoes skipped across southeast Minnesota in the darkness of the evening.
Minnesota is at the tip of a much warmer springlike air mass. Highs reached the 70s as far north as South Dakota Tuesday afternoon.

60 degrees Wednesday?
We’ll stay above the freezing mark across southern Minnesota overnight. Wednesday brings another mild day with highs in the 60s across southeast Minnesota.
It’s not out of the question we see 60 degrees in the southern Twin Cities, and maybe at MSP airport Wednesday afternoon.
Mild again this weekend
A minor cool front will trim highs into the 40s south and 30s north Thursday and Friday.
Warmer breezes blow in again starting this weekend. Highs will reach the 50s Saturday in southern Minnesota with mostly 40s up north.
Temperatures push into the 60s again across southern Minnesota Sunday.
Your local bank thermometer may happily flash 60 degrees Sunday afternoon in the Twin Cities.
