It was uneventful but milder than average on St. Patrick’s Day in Minnesota. The mercury at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport topped out at 48 degrees Thursday.
That’s 6 degrees warmer than average for March 17.
Friday brings one more day in the 40s.

Highs Saturday return to the 50s across southern Minnesota with 40s up north.
Sunday brings the warmest day of the weekend. Highs will reach the 60s across southern Minnesota once again, with 50s across much of central and even parts of northern Minnesota.
The Twin Cities has another shot at our first 60-degree temperature of the season Sunday afternoon.
Snow melt continues
Our mild week is doing a number on snow cover across southern Minnesota. The Twin Cities reports just a trace of snow on the ground at the MSP airport now. There is little or no snow cover from the Twin Cities southward as of Thursday afternoon.
The lack of snow cover across southern Minnesota will help boots temperatures this weekend with strong sunshine.
