We could use a couple of storm-free, sunny, mild days across Minnesota.

The forecast maps look ready to deliver.

Thursday brings bright sunshine and mild temperatures. Our average high and low in the Twin Cities as we move into meteorological summer are 75 and 56 degrees.

Thursday’s high temperatures will ease into the 70s across most of southern and western Minnesota, with some 60s and even 50s up north.

Friday brings another cool day up north, with 70s in southern Minnesota.

Saturday brings a few showers and cooler temperatures in the 60s. Right now, Sunday looks like the better day of the weekend with highs around 70 degrees in the south.

Right now I don’t see any heat on the weather maps for the next two weeks. In fact, NOAA’s 8- to 14-day outlooks continue to favor a bull’s eye of below-average temperatures across most of the Upper Midwest.
