The far southern portion of the Twin Cities metro area saw some strong to severe thunderstorms late Saturday morning, with just scattered showers and more isolated thunderstorms elsewhere in the metro area.
Portion of southern Minnesota had severe weather Saturday morning. Three-inch diameter hail was reported by law enforcement at Gibbon, in Sibley County, at 10:30 a.m. CDT. The National Weather Service described that hail as "teacup size"
As of 1 p.m., the severe thunderstorm watch was no longer in effect for any part of the Twin Cities metro area. The watch continues until 2 p.m. this afternoon in Rice and Waseca counties.

Widespread damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...A cluster of storms will likely continue to intensify and progress east-southeastward across the region through the afternoon, with additional near-frontal development possible across southern Minnesota/northern Iowa this afternoon.
