Rain and rumbles of thunder probably woke some people up early this Friday morning. The official rainfall total at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was just under one inch (.95”) overnight and early today, but several spots saw over one inch of rain. Here are some rainfall totals from noon Thursday to noon Friday:

Some areas of scattered showers and embedded thunderstorms are possible in Minnesota and western Wisconsin Friday afternoon into Friday night. By sunrise on Saturday, most rain activity will have shifted into Wisconsin.
Another chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms moves into northeastern Minnesota Sunday afternoon and evening.

Weekend temps and dew points
Our average Twin Cities high temp is 81 degrees on Aug. 13. We’re looking at metro area highs in the lower 80s this Saturday. We’ll share lower 80s with much of southern Minnesota, with mainly 70s elsewhere in Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

Saturday afternoon dew points will be in the sticky 60s in central and southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

Sunday high temperatures will be in the 70s in many areas, with the Twin Cities and parts of southern Minnesota touching 80:
