It didn’t feel like late October on Saturday.
The Saturday high at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 67 degrees. Our average Twin Cities high is 51 this time of year. The average Twin Cities high temp on Sept. 29 is 67 degrees.
Much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin saw Saturday highs in the 60s, with a few 50s in far northwestern Minnesota. A few spots in west-central and southwestern Minnesota topped 70 degrees Saturday afternoon. We don’t see any chilly high temps in the next few days.

Sunday highs will reach either 60 or the lower 60s in roughly the southern half of Minnesota plus western Wisconsin:
Northern Minnesota will have a lot of 50s.
Sunday afternoon wind gusts will be 10 mph or less in most areas:
Forecast wind gusts are in knots, with 7 knots equal to 8 mph.
Back to temperatures, above-normal temps will continue through the coming week. Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the lower 60s on Monday, followed by upper 60s Tuesday and around 70 Wednesday. Metro area highs retreat to the mid 60s Thursday, followed by upper 50s on Friday. That Friday high will still be several degrees warmer than our average early November high temp.
Dry Sunday and much of the week
The Twin Cities metro area and much of the southern third of Minnesota are in either extreme or severe drought. We’re still searching for rain.
Sunday and Sunday evening look dry. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model isn’t showing any rain or snow in Minnesota or western Wisconsin during that time frame:
Monday through Wednesday are looking mostly dry as well. Some forecast models show shower chances returning late Thursday into Friday. I hope that we see some rain.

Halloween weather
There isn’t any scary weather in the Halloween forecast. Monday and Monday evening look dry in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Highs on Monday will reach the 60s across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin, with some 50s in far northern Minnesota. Temps will be mainly in the 50s during trick-or-treating time Monday evening.
Weather nugget
