Our stretch of warmer-than-normal autumn temps will continue for several more days.
Our average Twin Cities high temperature is 51 degrees this time of year. Some spots in the metro area could see highs in the mid-60s Sunday afternoon.
Highs in the 60s are expected in roughly the southern half of Minnesota as well as western Wisconsin. Much of northern Minnesota will have Sunday highs in the 50s.

Some spots in southwestern Minnesota will top out in the lower 70s.
Monday afternoon wind gusts will be highest in northwestern Minnesota, where they could reach 20 mph at times:
Forecast wind gusts are in knots, with 17 knots equal to 19.6 mph.
During trick-or-treat time Monday evening, temps will be in the mid to upper 50s in the Twin Cities metro area. Temps during that time will be in the 50s across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin, with some 40s in far northern Minnesota.
Halloween still looks dry in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows rain staying well off to the southeast Monday and Monday evening:

Temperature trends
Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the upper 60s on Tuesday, then around 70 degrees Wednesday, followed by mid 60s Thursday. Cooler temps arrive Friday, with highs in the mid-50s.
Drought lingers
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor report shows extreme drought conditions (shaded red) from western Ramsey County and northwestern Dakota County through much of Hennepin County and the southwest metro, as well as Sibley County and portions of Lyon and Redwood counties in southwestern Minnesota:
Severe drought covers the remainder of the Twin Cities metro area and much of southwestern Minnesota.
The official Twin Cities precipitation total (rainfall plus the water content of the minor snowfall on Oct. 14) is just 24 one-hundredths (.24) of an inch this October.
That’s 2.21 inches below normal for this point in October. Precipitation at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is 4.99 inches below normal since Sept. 1 and 9.96 inches below normal since Jan. 1.
