First the snow. Now cue the cold.
The season’s strongest cold front so far is blowing through Minnesota. Temperatures are already in the teens in western Minnesota. Shades of blue and purple dominate the weather maps for the next several days.
Our slushy snowpack will freeze solid in the coming hours. Low temperatures by Thursday morning will hover in the teens around most of Minnesota.
Temperatures through Friday won’t budge much. We’ll be hovering in the teens across most of Minnesota Friday.

The core of the cold air mass peaks this weekend across Minnesota. Lows will hover near zero up north, with single digits as far south as the Twin Cities.
Thanksgiving week forecast
Most forecast models suggest temperatures will moderate a bit Thanksgiving week. Highs could rise above the freezing mark by next Wednesday in southern Minnesota. The European model suggests temperatures near 40 degrees next Wednesday afternoon across southern Minnesota.
Some forecast models then suggest another cold surge around Thanksgiving Day.
