It’s a storm for the record books.
We’re still counting up inches around Minnesota. But so far this storm has likely already made it into the top 23 snowfall events on record in the Twin Cities.
MSP Airport recorded 12.2” of snow as of noon Wednesday. That means just another 0.8” of snow will make this system the 23rd-largest snowfall on record for the Twin Cities.
If we get another 1.4” of snow at MSP before this storm ends it will boost us into the top 20 snowfall events on record.

Additional snowfall overnight
The low-pressure system will gradually swirl eastward overnight. But wrap-around snow showers will still produce some accumulations overnight into early Thursday morning.
Parts of our region will still pick up another 1” to 2” overnight. There are still a few areas locally that could see 3” overnight in my opinion under heavier snow bands.
