Temps recover a bit Wednesday into Friday

This is very cold, even by January standards.

Saturday highs were below zero in much of west-central and northwestern Minnesota, and highs were mainly in the single digits above zero across the remainder of Minnesota plus western Wisconsin. For perspective, our average Twin Cities high temperature is 24 degrees this time of year.

Arctic cold will be stay entrenched over us Saturday night and Sunday into Monday.

Temps and wind chills

Low temps late Saturday night into early Sunday will range from 20s below zero in far northern Minnesota to single digits below zero in the Twin Cities metro area and southern Minnesota:

Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to be around 2 above zero on Monday, then around 11 degrees on Tuesday followed by mid teens Wednesday and Thursday and upper teens on Friday.
