11-degree high for Twin Cities; winter weather advisory for far southern Minnesota

It’s a cold start to our weekend!

Early Saturday morning temps range from 20s below zero in far northern Minnesota to single digits above zero in the southern third of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities.

Wind chills are in the 20s and 30s below zero across much of northern Minnesota Saturday morning. A wind chill advisory continues until 3 p.m. in northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota:

The metro area, southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin will creep into the double-digits above zero for afternoon highs.

Snow stays south

Periods of snow are expected in far southern Minnesota on Saturday, with heavier snow in much of Iowa and far southern Wisconsin.
