Get ready for one more arctic adventure, Minnesota.

Another arctic air mass blows into Minnesota Thursday. Northwest winds will increase behind the frontal zone from north to south across our state. Temperatures will hover in the teens south with subzero air across northern Minnesota Thursday.

Temperatures will fall again to subzero levels statewide Thursday night, and Friday will be the coldest morning for the foreseeable future.

Weekend thaw ahead

Temperatures will rebound rapidly this weekend. Highs will reach the 30s across southern Minnesota by Saturday afternoon.

The longer range outlooks favor warmer than average temperatures for the next two weeks across Minnesota.

Looking at the forecast models, Friday could be the last subzero morning for at least the next week, and possibly two weeks for southern Minnesota.

We’ll still likely see more subzero mornings this month, but it may be a while.
