We really don’t need additional snow right now, but there are some flakes in the Friday night forecast. Snow is expected to spread into Minnesota and western Wisconsin as we go through Friday evening and into Friday night.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 5 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday:
Snow accumulations are expected to be 1 inch or less in most areas.

The daylight hours of Saturday and Sunday look dry. Rain showers or a mix of rain and snow could move into southern Minnesota Sunday evening and then spread northeastward Sunday night.
Wind chill advisory NW Minnesota Friday evening into early Saturday
A wind chill advisory begins at 6 p.m. Friday and continues until 10 a.m. Saturday in northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota:
Wind chills as low as 35 below zero are possible.
Weekend temperatures
The average Feb. 25 low temperature is 17 degrees in the Twin Cities and the average high temp is 32 degrees.
Metro area lows will be in the single digits Saturday morning, and northern Minnesota will have low temperatures below zero:
Saturday high temperatures will be mainly in the 20s, but northwestern Minnesota will have highs in the teens:
Sunday low temps will be in the single digits above zero to the south, with subzero lows in the north:
Sunday highs will be in the 30s across much of southern and central Minnesota, with mainly 20s in the north:
