Spring has finally sprung. The warmest air mass in five months is here. The last time the Twin Cities hit 60 was Nov. 10. Our last 70 was Nov. 2.

This week brings widespread 70s to Minnesota, and we have a shot at 80 degrees by Wednesday in the south.

Temperatures are already tickling the 70-degree mark as I post this Monday afternoon. Much of southeastern Minnesota — including Rochester, Albert Lea, and Red Wing — has already reached 70 degrees Monday.

Highs Tuesday bring widespread 70s to our region.

Near-record highs?

We’ll likely approach record highs this week in some locations. Record highs this week in the Twin Cities include 83 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday, and 84 degrees Thursday.

The weekend looks wetter and colder right now.

Stay tuned.
