Wintry mix Thursday night, another storm Friday

The forecast maps are looking more July than late May into next week. 

Our back door cool front (blowing in for the east) has dropped temperatures for a day. Highs will hover in the chilly 40s and 50s near Lake Superior Wednesday afternoon with bracing winds off a still-frigid Lake Superior.

Temperatures will rebound quickly by the weekend. Highs will return to the 80s in western Minnesota Thursday.

Highs will push well into the 80s across Minnesota this weekend. 

And I won’t be surprised to see a 90-degree temperature in Minnesota next week. 

Dew points will remain in the comfortable 40s and 50s into the weekend, but  They may reach the sticky 60s next week. 

The weather pattern across the Upper Midwest looks dry well into next week.

Our low humidity, winds, and breezes are drying soils pretty quickly again. That’s good news for areas like southwestern Minnesota that saw 4 to 8 inches of rain in the past couple of weeks. But many lawns, gardens, and fields could use some water. 

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts model is in consensus with many other forecast models that show little precipitation across most of Minnesota into next week.
