Summery Saturday; rain chances highest in western MN through Saturday night

Good weather for Grandma's Marathon

The weather is outstanding for Grandma’s Marathon Saturday morning.

The starting point at Two Harbors reported an early morning temperature of 52 degrees. The ending point in Duluth will have temps in the mid and upper 60s later Saturday morning as many racers finish.

There’s no rain in the forecast for Grandma’s Marathon and light winds will be coming off of Lake Superior.

Rain chances

Portions of western Minnesota and north-central Minnesota are seeing scattered showers and thunderstorms Saturday morning and those same areas will continue to see scattered rain activity into Saturday afternoon.

An isolated shower or thunderstorm could develop in the remainder of Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin by late Saturday afternoon.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible anywhere in Minnesota and western Wisconsin Saturday evening and overnight Saturday night.

Pay more attention to the patchy nature of the rain than the exact location of the rain at any point in time.

Weekend temps and dew points

The average Twin Cities high temperature is 80 degrees on June 17. Metro area highs are expected to reach the mid-80s Saturday.

Most of central and southern Minnesota plus western Wisconsin will have Saturday highs in the 80s, with 70s in the northern third of Minnesota:
