It’s been a dry Saturday morning across most of eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, but parts of western Minnesota have seen periods of showers and thunderstorms.
Here’s a look at rain chances the remainder of this weekend:
Western Minnesota and north-central Minnesota have the best chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday afternoon. An isolated late-afternoon shower or thunderstorm is possible elsewhere in Minnesota plus western Wisconsin.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible anywhere in Minnesota and western Wisconsin Saturday evening and overnight Saturday night.
Far western Minnesota looks dry on Sunday, with a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms elsewhere in Minnesota and into Wisconsin.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s High-Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) forecast model shows the potential rain pattern from 6 p.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday:

Pay more attention to the patchy nature of the rain than the exact location of the rain at any point in time. Some locations will see little or no rain this weekend, but some spots could see downpours at times due to slow storm movement.

Temperature trends
The average Twin Cities high temperature is 80 degrees on June 17. Metro area highs are expected to reach the mid-80s Saturday afternoon.
Most of central and southern Minnesota plus western Wisconsin will have Saturday highs in the 80s, with 70s in the northern third of Minnesota.
Sunday highs will be in the lower 80s in western Minnesota and in parts of western Wisconsin, with some 70s sandwiched in-between:
Metro area highs will be in the upper 70s to around 80 on Sunday.
Sunday afternoon dew points will be in the sticky 60s in parts of central and southern Minnesota:
Monday high temps will be in the upper 80s to around 90 in central and southern Minnesota plus west-central Wisconsin:
Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the lower 90s on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, followed by upper 80s Friday.
There isn’t any chilly weather in sight. The NWS Climate Prediction Center shows a tendency for above-normal temps in Minnesota and Wisconsin next weekend and into the beginning of the following week:
