It’s Father’s Day and many people have outdoor plans. Be prepared for some rain at times today. There could also be a few thunderstorms in some areas, mainly Sunday afternoon and early Sunday evening.
Here’s how the composite picture of NWS radars looked at 8:30 a. m. Sunday:

The steadiest rain was from west-central Minnesota into central Minnesota, with scattered showers elsewhere.
The rain is expected to expand into more of the Twin Cities metro area later this morning and into early afternoon. By mid and late afternoon the best chance of rain and embedded thunderstorms may be in western Wisconsin, with scattered showers and thunderstorms lingering in eastern Minnesota.
