Much of Minnesota is either abnormally dry or in actual drought right now, so we could use some rain.
There is plenty of moisture available for rain and thunderstorms today and tonight. At 7 a.m. rain and thunderstorms covered most of southwestern Minnesota and portions of west-central Minnesota, with a few patchy areas of rain in northern Minnesota. The rain will continue to spread eastward as we go through today and then linger into this evening in many areas.
Parts of southwestern Minnesota saw strong thunderstorm winds earlier this morning. There is the potential for some severe weather in Minnesota and western Wisconsin this afternoon and evening. The NWS Storm Prediction Center shows a slight risk of severe weather (shaded yellow) today and tonight in portions of southern Minnesota, with a marginal severe weather risk (darker green) in a broad section of Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin:
Slight risk means that scattered severe thunderstorms are possible, with an isolated severe thunderstorm possible in the marginal risk area.

Temperatures and dew points
The average Twin Cities high temperature is 81 degrees on June 24. The metro area will see Saturday highs in the lower and middle 80s.
Most of central and southern Minnesota will have Saturday highs in the 80s, with 70s in much of northern Minnesota and 60s in the far north:
Parts of western Wisconsin will touch 90.
