Short of veterinary technicians, Animal Humane Society decides to 'grow their own'

Amanda Troastle (right) is in the first class of veterinary technicians being trained at a new in-house program at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley, Minn. The program aims to address an acute vet tech shortage and help the shelter better care for thousands of animals it takes in and cares for every year.
