Thursday was the hottest day of the year in the Twin Cities so far. And it will likely go down as the hottest day of 2023.
MSP Airport topped out at 96 degrees Thursday afternoon. Heat index values hit 107 degrees in parts of the Twin Cities including Blaine and Crystal.
The cold front that triggered storms Thursday brings cooler temperatures through the weekend.
Friday will still be near 90 in the Twin Cities, but highs will fall into the 80s south and 70s north Saturday.

The average high and low in the Twin Cities this weekend are 83 and 65 degrees. Highs in the 80s look common next week.
